Tribal Trouble

As I've mentioned on multiple previous posts here on PPT, tribalistic flare is all RAGE this spring. Animal prints, tribal patterns and silhouettes, and bright colors are running rampant all over ECU's campus and the fashion world! Designers such as Whitney Eve, Prada, Holly Fulton, Givenchy and Diane Von Furstenberg presented this fierce fad throughout their spring 2011 lines! More and more students have been prowling around campus in tribal threads, showing off their inner amazon. Today on Random Acts of Trendiness I am going to show you two examples of Pirates rocking this STYLE REVOLUTION....

This adorable student was sporting a trend that is showing up EVERYWHERE in fashion for spring: pairing two mismatched patterns together. Her amazon attire looked cute and comfortable, while still keeping up with the idea of neon colors and tribalistic flare!

Heres an example of mismatched patterns that was seen on the runway in Diane Von Furstenberg's spring 2011 line!

Even though the pattern on this Pirates dress isn't exactly the definition of animalistic, the silhouette definitely is. The combination of a feminine pattern with an edgy tribal neckline is chic and casual!

Holly Fulton showed this same coupling of trends with this amazing yellow dress featured in her spring 2011 collection!

Although this post only has a few pictures to back it up, there is no need to worry...tribal style is definitely a trend that CAN'T BE TAMED! Tune in later today for another post about a different fashion movement thats been running wild! Hope everyone has a great Thursday! Only one more day till the weekend fashionistas, can I get a HALLELUJAH!?

Turbanization

Over Spring break I spent my time in Charleston searching high and low for a turban! These hair pieces are unbelievably adorable, and according to the Spring 2011 runway trends (cue Heidi Klum voice) "turbans are IN and fedoras are OUT!" Here are some posh pictures of fashionistas, including myself, wearing turbans for Spring...

So I am taking the time to ask you, what are your opinions about this new fad? Is Turbanization on the prowl through your campus yet? Don't be afraid to stand out and become a trend setter with this haute hair accessory at your school! Lets hear some feedback, fashionistas!

Grassroots, Combat Boots, and Amazing Accessories.

As it has been for a while, the weather is continuing to blow me away (pun intended, ha!) The sun is hot, summer breeze is swirling around campus, and its slowly becoming more and more tempting to skip classes. People are getting SERIOUS cases of Spring-fever! Blankets are laid out over the grass in the mall and towels are sprawled over beach chairs as students tan and spend some stress free time in the sun. As the weather transitions from warm, to hot, to get-me-into-some-shade-im-gonna-die-of-a-heat-stroke temperatures, fashions continue to adjust. Tank tops, shorts, button downs, sandals, and sneakers and being dusted off and rocked by Pirates all over ECU! Here are some stylish students that are geared up for Summer weather...

This fashionable student wasn't afraid to rock some fierce footwear in the warm weather. The combination of a jean button down coupled with combat boots is exactly what the runways showed for Spring 2011!

Chic eyewear constantly pops up on PPT! These bright red glasses and tribal inspired shades not only help one stay stylish, but they keep the sun out of your eyes. Now THAT is a multifunctional accessory!

An outfit isn't complete without some sublime accessories to finish it off! A vintage influenced wristwatch and some red All-Stars helped these posh Pirates accomplish ideal ensembles for this Summer weather preview.

So keep an eye out for Summer style around your school, and stayed tuned for some more FLAWLESS fashion here on PPT! Have a fabulous Monday and...

Saturday Inspiration

During weekends at ECU the majority of people do not come out during the day wearing "cute clothes" unless they have some special event to go to. What one would NORMALLY see on a Saturday is a slue of people wearing "lets-go-downtown" outfits starting at about like 7 o'clock that night, and at every other time of the day they're probably going to be in sweats or a bathing suit! Because of this interesting phenomenon that is sweeping over college campuses such as mine, I decided that I had to come up with a weekend blog post that still involved fashion, but didn't feature students! Heres what I came up with....
What I'm going to do is every Saturday I'm going to share with you what fashion inspiration I found that week, and hopefully get your mind twirling with your own inspiration for the weekend! Drum roll please, here is the first of MANY Saturday Inspiration posts! Enjoy...

I hope these pictures inspired you as much as they did me and that you're itching to go explore your closet, get creative with your hairstyles, slip on some chic shoes, and hit the town with a Saturday Inspired outfit! Enjoy this amazing weather lovelys!
