Oversized Outerwear

One trend that I have LITERALLY seen over 5 times this morning as I sit here in Starbucks sipping my delicious coffee and observing my fashionable peers is oversized outerwear. From huge boots to baggy cardigans and all the way to droopy infinity scarves, this large and in-charge craze has gradually made its way from the catwalk to campus. Although some fashionistas prefer fitted ensembles, I am OBSESSED with this ill-fitted trend. When I throw on an oversized sweater and some oversized glasses with boots that are way to big around my ankles, I feel exceptionally in-style. Just like the Man Repeller says, the more freaked out a guy gets when he sees your outfit...the more trendy it is. (At least in a majority of cases, sometimes you really just shouldn't be wearing that) As the colder weather turns from crisp to frigid, outerwear is becoming a hot commodity! Two essential items that are outstanding when oversized are beanies are jackets. I have seen student after student walking around ECU wearing these items in a way that rivals that of Rumi Neely on Fashiontoast.
Beanies and jackets are perfect for cold weather, and they can take your outfit from everyday to everyone being envious of your ensemble! Here are some pictures to inspire you to go out and find something ostentatious and oversized to throw into your wardrobe...

So next time you want to wear something that will keep you warm, provide some room for snuggling down into your seat during class AND keep you up-to-date with the latest trends... why not try something oversized? Once you do you will be hooked, just like me! (except hopefully not as severely as I am, for the sake of your wallet and the men in your life....)

T-shirt Scarves and Fashion Show Previews

Do you have a billion T-shirts in your closet that are fun patterns or cute colors, yet you never wear them? Well I have the perfect solution my friends! The T-shirt scarf...
Not only are scarves huge this season, but they are a simple and comfortable way to accessorize! The T-shirt scarf is a fabulous solution for all those tees in your closet that you want to clear out yet are too trendy or sentimental to toss. The other day I took one of my T-shirts that I really liked but never wore and I turned it into a new scarf that I LOVE! What do you think?..
Cute right!? I found out this idea from my terrifically talented twin sister and I became obsessed with the idea of taking one fashion and transforming it into another! Click HERE to go to her blog and see the simple directions for how to make the beloved T-shirt scarf...

In other news, last night I got to attend Fedora Boutique's Holiday Fashion Show and I had a BLAST!
I am going to start working with this adorable store after Christmas break and I cannot wait! I will be helping out with media publicity such as blogging, Facebook and Twitter and I will also be able to go into the store and work hours whenever they need me. How perfect is that? Employee discount YES PLEASE! Last night they hosted a fashion show to debut the stores chic clothing and it went splendidly! I got to go behind the scenes and take pictures of the models as they got ready to strut their stuff and then I was able to watch the finished product!
Friday I am going to be posting a piece about the show FULL of fun pictures and fashion trends and I want all of ya'll to make sure you stay tuned, it should be up by Noon on the 9th! Until then...

iPhone Phridays

So I decided that on Fridays I'm just going to post random pictures that I take on my brand new iPhone 4S! I am OBSESSED with it and I take a BILLION pictures on it so I wanted to share them with ya'll! Apologies to all the people who already see most of them on Twitter and Instagram, I've been going a little overboard lately. They won't all be about fashion and some may be annoying because a lot of them I take of myself making goofy faces or of food or something silly like that, but hey! Who cares right? It's just for fun and now you will get to know me a little better and I will have them saved on here like a mini online scrapbook! YAY! So with a little spelling tweak to add some fun and flair, introducing my first iPhone Phriday post (drum roll please) ....

The itty bitty bodice I have sitting on my dresser. probably one of my favorite decorations in my room!
Rocked my emo shoes that I used to wear to hip-hop class in highschool. Not fashionable, but so cool and comfortable dude.
A picture of my column about what to wear to holiday parties in The East Carolinian! Click the link here!
About to get my study on before a final the other day. I'm a loser but I thought my hair looked good so it called for a photo!
This is cubbie, the dog I bought my boyfriend for Christmas lat year. He's adorable and I love him SO much!
Totally what I want as my next haircut.
Vanilla greek yogurt with mixed berries and cinnamon raisin granola. My FAVORITE snack, meal, breakfast...you name it!
Early morning coffee with peppermint creamer. SO good!
a pit-stop at the Elon Starbucks before I made my way back to Greenville.
An amazing dress from Urban Outfitters that I'm FINALLY wearing tonight on a date with the bf.
(excuse my messy room) This is just an outfit I wore to class the other day when I was aiming for cute, yet casual and comfortable! Loved it.

So anywho, that is just a fun little post I thought I'd try! What do you think of it? Fan? Not a fan? Let's hear some feed back, fashionable people! But until the next iPhone photo...

The Day After Tomorrow

So I haven't written many posts like this lately, but when I spotted these fashionistas on campus I just knew I had to get a shot of their outfits! Not only because they looked adorable, but because they reminded me of one of my favorite blogs...
I mean the author of this amazing blog has some SERIOUS style. Her closet is packed with bright and billowy tops, sleek skirts and too many trousers to count! I envy her wardrobe SO much (it almost makes me want to cry, but I shall refrain for your sake) She has an effortless way of taking a simplistic outfit to the next level by adding easy accessories and vibrant colors. Check out some of my favorite looks that Krystal recently donned on her blog...
One item that she always wears in the perfect way is trousers. But not just neutral colored trousers, the ones she wears come in a wide variety of colors and patterns! For some reason, I don't have a SINGLE pair of trousers. Probably because the knee on pants hits me at my ankle because I'm a midget, but that's beside the point! I NEED a pair of these in my closet STAT, cus look how many she has??
We have to catch up to each other. Anywho, look how adorable these students looked that I spotted on campus! They were definitely emulating their inner Krystal and Audrey Hepburn with their skinny black trousers and bright red cigarette pants...
So I challenge you to rock some trouser pants or some vibrant colors (OR BOTH) the day after tomorrow, in honor of Krystal. I'm sure she would be proud of each and every one of us! And who doesn't want that??...
